Immerse your students in the treasures and stories of 13th-century Mongolia when the Genghis Khan exhibition makes its Rocky Mountain Region premiere at the Museum. The exhibition offers a unique adventure in the vast grassland of Central Asia, as it examines the culture, conquests, and legacy of one of history’s most intriguing characters.
More than 200 spectacular objects will be displayed to illustrate this story, including gold jewelry and ornaments, silk robes, musical instruments, pottery, sophisticated weaponry, and numerous other fascinating relics and elaborate artifacts.
Activities include:
- Walking through a ger (traditional nomadic dwelling) that features touchable items
- Playing traditional nomadic games
- Observing weaponry demonstrations
- Experiencing live cultural performances
- Constructing a Mongolian-style hat to take home
