Science Displays

Science Displays are available for special events such as fairs and festivals. These interactive, tabletop displays include hands-on activities facilitated by professional educators.

  • Grades 6–12

    Spin our trivia wheel and see how much you really know about alcohol and its effects on the body and the brain. Try simulation activities and examine model human organs to discover even more. Learn how to spot a drunk driver, recognize alcohol poisoning, and what to do if these problems arise.

  • Grades K–12

    Learn about the three main parts of the brain and how to properly fit a bicycle helmet. Participate in activities that simulate what it would be like to have a brain injury. Study the nervous system and examine a preserved slice of a real human brain.

  • Grades K–6

    Use real specimens and hands-on models to learn how your body systems keep you alive and kicking. Discover the functions of bones, follow the journey of food through the digestive system, figure out how your diaphragm works, and even listen to your own heart!

  • Grades K–12

    Bring the diorama halls of the Museum to your community and become a zoologist, anthropologist, geologist, and paleontologist all in one day! Pull the collections from behind the glass and explore the Museum up close and personal.

  • Grades 6–12

    Bon appétit! Learn more about what serving sizes really mean on food labels. Discover how to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy snacks. Test your nutrition knowledge by answering our trivia questions.

  • Grades 6–12

    Explore the three vital components of physical fitness: aerobic endurance, flexibility, and strength. Test your core strength on our balance boards or fitness ball. Learn how to incorporate physical fitness into your everyday life easily and quickly.

  • Grades 6–12

    Compare real specimens of smoker and nonsmoker lungs. Learn how the chemicals found in tobacco smoke can affect your entire body. Use our trivia game to test your newly acquired tobacco knowledge.
