  • Please have the teacher who is visiting call for reservations.
  • Make your reservation at least three weeks in advance to improve your chances for scheduling your preferred programs, dates, and times. Please have alternatives in mind when you call.
  • A confirmation letter will be sent. Please review the confirmation letter for accuracy and bring your confirmation letter with you the day of your visit.

If you are going to be late

  • Call Reservations immediately. We cannot guarantee accommodating late arrivals without prior notification.
  • Please note that there is absolutely no late admittance to Phipps IMAX Theater or Gates Planetarium.

If you must cancel

  • Cancellations with less than two weeks’ notice will be charged a $50 fee, except in the case of severe weather.

When You Arrive

  • Please enter through the school entrance on the south side of the building at least 20 minutes before your first scheduled program or show.
  • Payment Policy: We accept ONE payment in full for the entire group in cash (large bills), check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Make checks payable to Denver Museum of Nature & Science. We do not accept advance payment, special billing arrangements, purchase orders, or multiple payments. There are no refunds once payment is made. Please note: A Museum membership is not valid for student or chaperone admission.
  • Carpoolers: Main parking is located on the north side of the building. There are limited spaces elsewhere. Please be sure your vehicle is legally parked.

General Information

  • Chaperone Policy: One adult per 10 students is admitted free and is required! Additional adults above the 1:10 ratio must be present at check-in in order to be admitted at the school rate. In the interest of the children’s safety, the Museum requires that all chaperones be present at check-in and receive chaperone stickers from the head teacher. Any late-arriving adults must purchase full-price admission tickets and will not receive chaperone stickers.
  • If you are planning to bring a large group (200+) please designate a chaperone to handle logistics, scheduling, and disciplinary issues that may arise. This adult will not chaperone students but rather will serve as a floater to help the visit run smoothly for the entire group. This chaperone must be available onsite and provide a cell phone number to the Museum in case he or she needs to be reached during the visit.
  • Home schools are subject to the same policies and pricing structure as school groups.
  • NEW POLICY: School groups cannot make reservations for Museum Free Days. The school entrance, school desk, school lunchroom, and other services for school groups will not be available on Free Days.
