The funding covers bus transportation only and cannot be used for Museum admission. It provides reimbursement for up to two buses per field trip. Schools are responsible for making their own transportation arrangements and paying for the bus.

  • Scientific & Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) schools in Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Boulder, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties are eligible for a reimbursement up to $150.
  • Colorado schools outside the SCFD are eligible for a reimbursement up to $250.
  • Eligibility

    • In order to qualify for a Bus Fuel Fund reimbursement your school must have at least 50 percent of your students qualify for the free or reduced lunch program through the National School Lunch Program. Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Schools must have a reservation to visit the Denver Museum of Nature & Science before applying for bus funding.

    How to Participate

    • Schools must complete a Bus Fuel Fund application. Only completed forms will be accepted. Click here to fill out the Bus Fuel Fund application.
